Top 5 Croatian islands

1. Best for couples: Vis
Life is simple, but people are complicated as cynics will say. But it is precisely the simplicity of living even through the most chaotic touristic periods that makes Vis significantly different from other tourist destinations. Simplicity is the essence of this island tailored to men which is used in its whole by most visitors. Consequently, not just its protruding edges, Vis and Komiža, but also the numerous bays in the island's interior leave you breathless with their luxuriant fertility.

2. Best for culture: Korcula
The island itself is rich in art and culture, as well as beautiful nature such as numerous tiny and secluded beaches and bays, small and uninhabited islands and breathtaking views. The main town on the island is also named Korcula. It is a typical medieval walled Dalmatian city, with its round defensive towers and cluster of red-roofed houses. Marco Polo (1254 - 1324) the famous world-traveller and writer, as well as a Venetian merchant, is reputed to have been born in Korcula. This is a magical place that will seduce you with all its attributes - scents, tastes, sounds and preserved natural beauties.

4. Best for foodies: Pag
The distinguishing ”white desert” appearance of Pag Island is one of the reasons this place offers so many top-class delicacies. Namely, the barren landscape hides herbs such as thyme and rosemary and Pag sheep graze freely on these aromatic plants, awarding us eventually with paški sir – Pag cheese which has been recognized as one of the best on the world market year after year. Besides this, Pag is also famous for its lamb, which prepared traditionally ispod peke (under a metal lid covered with hot coals), is a foodie treat not to be missed

5. Best for beauty and buzz: Hvar
Located at the end of a beautiful five mile long bay, amongst heavily dense wooded hills.
